Artistic Statement
My burning desire in writing plays is to find the sublime and humor in grief and loss. All my characters seem to experience small and large betrayals by people close to them, and they have trouble making authentic connections with those they are drawn to - and are constantly flummoxed by being misunderstood by those they count on. My main characters struggle with feelings of isolation, but they're always holding out hope that some kind of magic will make things all right again, or all right, just for once.
