On March 22, 2017, The 29th Street Playwrights Collective participated in a nation-wide event celebrating International Women's Day with the Future is Female Festival in partnership with Goddard Riverside Community Center, raising funds for low income girls to attend Performing Arts Summer camp. The hugely popular evening represented the work of nine female playwrights.

The readings were directed by Jessica Bauman (Wordplay Shakespeare), Kim Gambino, Anna Lathrop (The Muse Project), Cristina Lundy (The Rape of Lucrece/NY Shakespeare Exchange), and Suzanne Willett (Maria’s Song/Dixon Place).
The ensemble cast included Michelle Agresti, Andrew Barrett, Cara Feuer, Kim Gambino, Megan King, Bianca Leigh, Krystel Lucas, Nina Mehta, Mario Merone, Kyle Minshew, Pamela Monroe, Hannah Roze, Tracie Tolmaire, and Karen Eleanor Wight.
Playwrights include Liz Duffy Adams, Melissa Bell, Eugenie Carabatsos, Cindy Cooper, Sharon E Cooper, Gina Femia, Francesca Pazniokas, Robin Rice, and Julie Richardson. Stage Management by Heather Bagnall and Luke Tudball.
The festival was created and produced by Mya Kagan, co-produced by Lauren Orkus, with Social Media Manager Sarah Cosgrove.

Raised $300 in Scholarships for underprivileged girls for Summer Arts Camp.
